Six area professionals recently recognized for completing the Nonprofit Management Certificate Program - a seven-part series of classes exploring the basic principles and best practices of the nonprofit sector. The certificate program was offered as a collaborative initiative by the Nonprofit Center, Midwestern State University Center for Continuing Education, The Priddy Foundation, and the Center for Nonprofit Management in Dallas. The goal was to give the staff and volunteers of nonprofit organizations an opportunity to greatly expand their knowledge base in a cost effective and time efficient manner, said Debbie White, director of grants for The Priddy Foundation. The enthusiasm of the participants and their comments following each session told us we succeeded. Ninety-five individuals representing over 35 agencies participated in the series, which was held at the Wichita Falls Museum of Art at Midwestern State University. The following individuals completed the course of study for certification in 2007-2008. The program graduates include Tina Feller, Coaching for Success; James Hodsden, pastor, Vernon, TX; Barbara Morgan, community volunteer; Mary Stengel, Wichita Falls Area Food Bank; Sandra Sims, Step by Step Fundraising; and Teresa Washington, Historic West Mansfield Community Development Corporation.
